What are keyboard shortcuts?
Keyboard shortcuts are just a quick way to do something using the keyboard combination; usually to save time and increase productivity. Mac OS, Windows PC have a tone of shortcuts.
In the beginning, I wasn't a big fan of Keyboard Shortcuts because I didn't want to remembers them, but now I find myself using them all the time. Once I have developed that muscle memory, It becomes a second name.
18 Shortcuts Windows Shortcuts That I use All the time
Here are the 18 Windows Keywords (bolded) that I find myself using all the time. The one with rocket emoji are the ones I consider super shortcut.
Ctrl groups
- Ctrl + A => Select all the Text
- Ctrl + C => copy text/file/folder
- Ctrl + V => paste text/file/folder
- Ctrl + X => Cut text/file/folder
- Ctrl + Z => undo
- Ctrl + Shift+ Esc => open the task manager
- F2 => rename the selected item
Windows Key Group
- Windows key + V => Clipboard history 🚀
- Windows key + E => open the file explorer 🚀
- Windows key + A => open the action bar
- Windows key + L => Lockout your screen/ unlock screen 🚀
- Windows key + I => opens Settings
- Windows key + Print Screen => take a screenshot
- Windows key + M => Minimize all opened apps🚀
- Windows + . => use emoji and symbols in every app (word, oneNote ...) 🚀
- Windows + Ctrl + Left/Right => Switch to the virtual desktop on the left or right.
- Windows key + Number => open App on the taskbar from left to right
- Windows + Ctrl + F4 => Close the current virtual desktop
- Windows key + left/right arrow => arrange app on left/right half of the screen
- Windows+ Ctrl + D => Create a virtual desktop
Alt Group
- Alt + Tab = > all the apps currently running 🚀
- Alt + F4 => close the current active application
